Registrations for the 2011 sitting of HPAT-Ulster will open online at this website on Monday 4 October 2010.

The test will be held on Saturday 29 January 2011.

Unethical Behaviour

HPAT-Ulster is a high stakes test; that is, the results have the potential to make a major impact on the future career of the test taker. For this reason standard security procedures will be strictly enforced at all times.

The giving of false or misleading information during the registration process, and any form of cheating during the test itself, are viewed as serious breaches of ethical behaviour and will attract severe penalties. Any candidates found to be cheating will automatically have their HPAT-Ulster scores cancelled and may be prohibited from applying to sit HPAT-Ulster on a future occasion.

Practices which constitute cheating include:

  • Attempting to take the test on behalf of another person
  • Attempting to remove a test book or part thereof, an answer sheet, or any notes, from the testing room
  • Failure to follow test supervisor’s instructions at all times – including the instruction to work only on a particular section of the test and the instruction to stop work and put pencils down
  • Giving or receiving of assistance during the test
  • Creating a disturbance
  • Using aids (including: notes, note paper, dictionary, calculator, mobile phone, MP3 players and similar electronic devices, etc.)

Breaches of copyright
Candidates are advised that HPAT-Ulster is copyright material that is owned by ACER.
In addition to any penalty imposed for unethical behaviour arising from a candidate using or passing on information about test questions to a third party for the purpose of the candidate’s or a third party’s personal or commercial gain, a candidate, or a person acting on a candidate’s behalf, who infringes or misuses ACER’s intellectual property rights in HPAT-Ulster may be subject to legal action.
